mobileclient.tcf issues
I am trying to customise the mobileclient.tcf file for a client deployment via group policy with no success. The documentation is almost non-existent. The installation files are in a customised share that is specified on the "/source" switch via the 2007 client deployment GPO settings. I have placed the mobileclient.tcf file in this share and used the /noservice and /config switches and it says it cannot find the mobileclient.tcf file. The reason we have to use this file is because of the limitation of the 2007 client deployment GPO settings. We have a huge string for the share in the /source switch and the "patch" parameter is also very long. The combination of all the switches we need just dont fit on the 2007 client deployment GPO settings. Thanks David

Thanks. I have read all those and none answer my basic question. The client setup fails to find the mobileclient.tcf file which I have in my share that im distributing. Why cant it find it there?

/source switch and the "patch" parameter is also very long. As far as i know Patch Parameters are not supported officially by MS.. I have found a workaround. I discovered that the configmgr install adm file had a line in it (MAXLEN=255) which restricted the amount of characters I could enter as ccmsetup parameters. I simply removed this restriction and now can enter a very long parameter command line. I have test this and the patch parameter works just fine. So I no longer need the mobileclient.tcf. Maybe 2012 will have better documentation on this? Or maybe it will disappear in 2012?
