With the upgrade of computers to Internet Explorer 11, we've come across an issue with one intranet site needing compatibility mode turned off, but the rest of the intranet sites needing it on. I've tried to disable compatibility mode and add those pages needing it to the exemption list, but everytime you close out IE and bring it back up, the exemption list is cleared. I've seen posts about the history being cleared upon exit, so I went to check on that and the corporate setting has that grayed out and I don't have that high of administrative rights to remove that.
The other workaround I found, and successfully tested thoroughly, was to go into the Local Group Policy and under "Administrative Templates Windows Components Internet Explorer Compatibility View" and add the exemptions there for IE7 compatibility mode.
So, I'm wondering if there's a batch file or some sort of script I could write so I could send that out to everyone in this location to run one time to update that policy setting to add 3 or 4 intranet url addresses to the exemption list, and if there's a way, just in case, to bypass the administrative rights needed mode.
I am preparing myself to have to do this manually on every computer here, which could take me several hours to do. Thanks in advance
