login time is anywhere from 2-5 minutes

Single Primary Site SCCM 2012 R2 CU5

We have been working this summer on upgrading all computers to Windows 8.1 using SCCM.

When a user (student/fac/admin) goes to login to the computer, the initial login time is anywhere from 2-5 minutes.

I have looked many places online to try to find a solution and a few sites mention creating a default mandatory roaming profile to speed up login times.

Are there any other solutions that could be applied?  Id rather not have mandatory roaming profiles for all the users district-wide.

Our issue will be when students try to log in during a class and they now lose 5 minutes of instructional time.

Did you by any chance add anything to the WIM in a offline mode?

Like windows updates or things in that natures?

The reason i ask is that some of the things we add to the WIM when the WIM is offline sometime get loaded during the first log on.

If this is not the case could be so many things could be some GPO that use GPP to push many printers that is causing the issue.

But this issue as little chance to being actually base on Configuration Manager.

This question is not ConfigMgr related, is it? You would have to analyse boot performance using xperf or whatever tool.
