local administrator rights in windows 7 in a domain

Hi there,

I have got an administrator rights in my windows 7 virtual desktop dedicated to me in a domain, where i can perform any actions. But generally, use of google chrome and access to one of the trusted website both is blocked may be according to domain GPO. I feel there must be a way to unblock these 2 things. Please could anyone help to solve these 2 things for me. I will appreciate your help.

Kind regards

You will see GPO settings applied by running gpresult/z on your computer. As Andreas said, if there is a GPO blocking this, you should contact your IT staff to unblock this.

Hi Raj Grg!

If there is a GPO blocking this, there isn't anything you could do about it without contacting the IT-department and explain why you need Chrome and that access to a trusted webpage is blocked.

Even if you remove the block manually, it will be applied again once the computer is restarted, or depending on the configuration, again after 90 minutes.

Hi Andreas and Yan,

Thank you for your reply. But i can see from my colleague that with registry settings modification we can allow blocked site as we have admin locally and do whatever setting we can. As i am providing a 1st Line IT support i would learn by myself if possible. So, if you have any idea rearding this could you help me.

I would still go the official way with this, but it is possible to add sites to the trusted sites list by modifying the registry.

As a warning, be careful when editing the registry.
The keys and values that needs to be added can be found in the answer to this post here:
