kb978754 installation
for preperation. If I install hotfix mentioned in kb978754 does it generate a .msp file for client patching (like some others do)?
If I only apply the hotfix on server what the problem will be?
thanks

This hotfix also includes a "Sccm2007ac-sp2-kb978754-x86.msp", so it also contains a client-side hotfix.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

thanks. but what does the client side hotfix do if it just fixes a driver importing issue? what problems would cause if client does not get this hotfix applied?
thanks again

Unfortunately, that KB does not specifically reference what the client side MSP is actually "fixing". I typically add it to new clients being deployed via OSD (all scenarios) but can't see any reason to deploy it to existing clients.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

Hi,
Yes. You need to update all the existing Win7, Vista and W2K8 clients with this hotfix, it updates the client side binaries. There is the KB 979492 talking
about client side issues.

Sabrina, are you sure about the KB number? 979492 is a Windows KB and has its own hotfix.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
