is RichText field hyperlink limited in characters?
I've learned that the hyperlink column type is limited to 255 or 260 characters (I've found this both ways in other posts) . If you use the hyperlink in the RichText editor is it limited to the same character count? There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what your are trying to accomplish.

Why don't you just do a simple test ? You can add such an URL as text in a Multiple Line Text field. Then copy the URL and put it in your browser. I don't see why it shouldn't work. Even if you can add it in the ML text field as a Hyperlink, it's still something that you can test for yourself. It almost takes longer to post here than test yourself.SP 2010 "FAQ" (mainly useful links): http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters

Mike - yes, I have tested. I get invalid URL error message displayed on the page. I thought it must have to do with the character length which is why I posted. But I think some other issue is at play. There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what your are trying to accomplish.

Hi, Thanks to share your post in this forum. For the issue that you have encountered, I think you can't increase the character limit of the hyperlink column. Use a rich text multiline field and store your links there. Hope this could help you! Leo
