installing scom agent from command line
Hi guys, Here's my problem... I found a nice website that explaines how to install the scom agent from command line, and after serveral tests, finally it worked, BUT here is the weird thing, after viewing the log of the installation, i went to the scom console, and unfortunatlly i can't see the server that i just installed the scom agent on it. One thing to mention is, i'm using this command line, because later i want to install the scom agents with SCCM. About my enviroment: It's a lab enviroment, the domain controllers are 2008 R2, all the servers are 2008R2, and the SCOM is the trial version of 180 days. here is the command line i used to install the scom: msiexec.exe /i MOMAgent.msi /qn /log c:\scomlog.txt USE_SETTINGS_FROM_AD=0 MANAGEMENT_GROUP=SCOM MANAGEMENT_SERVER_DNS=SCOM.VIPER.LOCAL ACTIONS_USE_COMPUTER_ACCOUNT=1 USE_MANUALLY_SPECIFIED_SETTINGS=1 ACTIONSUSER=viper\administrator ACTIONSDOMAIN=VIPER ACTIONSPASSWORD=bjuo!23 Unfortunatlly, i can't paste here the scom log installation, and it's too bad. (i'm getting a red error that says only between 4 to 60000 characters are allowe). i'll be happy to send someone from the experts here the log by e-mail, so we can get to the root of the problem much faster. Best regards, Nahum Israel

Hi, As this is considered as a manual installation you have to approve it in the Pending Actions folder in the Administration panel of the SCOM console. Previously you have to accept new manual installation: Administration>Settings>Server>Security: Check Review new manual agetn installation... RegardsSupervize Me

For agent manual installation, whether using Ui or command line, you should approve the agent from Administration --> Device management --> pending Management. If unfortunately, the machine name is not appear on pending management, follow the below tips for basic troubleshoot 1. make sure that service healhservice.exe is running on client machine 2. view event log of operation manager to see any error message Roger

I'm installing SCOM 2012 agent with the same cmd command. I have problem with no management group information in agent properties. When I've added management group information manually server appears in SCOM console. But my problem with clean management group information is still unsolved. If someone fix this issue please help.
