Hi,Yes you can select Use the site database (if you are not using SQL DB replication). If the clients are not able to do an automatic site discovery check that the secondary site server has the correct permissions on the System Management container (Full control for all object incl. child objects). Also check that you have created the correct boundaries for the secondary site.Check for System Management permission - read the sitecomp.log file on the secondary site server. To specify permissions read this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb633169.aspxAlso check the status messages for the site components. They will tell you if you have any "configuration errors".Kent Agerlund

Hi, I'm install a proxy management point role on a seconday site server. Did you work out if you need to configure database permissions for the secondary site server with the proxy managment point to write to the primary site database? Or does it simply send the data back to the primary site server and it put the data into the database? Look forward to your response, Ian R

Hello - Yes, for this you need to add secondary server account to SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_<site code> group on the primary server. More details - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632811.aspx After the secondary site has been successfully installed, you must manually create the address to the secondary site in the parent site Configuration Manager console and ensure that the secondary site server computer account has been added to the local SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_<site code> group on the primary site server computer to enable site-to-site communications.Anoop C Nair - This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
