when I installed the two updates to my SCCM07 server so I can manage Win 8.1, I noticed that "Forefront Client Security" went away from the SUP Products list but "Forefront Endpoint Protection 2012" appeared. We are still using FCS, so is it better to uninstall the KB updates or move forward with deploying FEP 2012?
I will answer this myself. I did the updates so that I could work with windows 8.1 and 2012 server. found that while looking in the WSUS console I could not find Forefront Client Security, it shows a bunch of other Forefront items. so I looked in SCCM 2007
under SUP and I could see Forefront Client Security. so i searched google and found where someone else just selected all the items. went back to the WSUS console and selected the entire group of forefront items, everything started working. So it appears that
good ole Microsoft has renamed the Forefront Client to "Microsoft Client Security" or another name. anyway it is working now, pushing out forefront CLient updates to client from the WSUS Console using the RULE for FOREFRONT CLIENT product. I did not have to
reinstall the WSUS so I was happy about that.
