iOS Device Name Format/Change
Is there any way to control the format of how the device name shows up in the ConfigMgr console after a user enrolls their iPad or iPhone? When an Android device is enrolled, it shows up in a format that makes it easy to recognize who it belongs to (ie: "Joe.Smith_Android_7/16/2015_3:28 PM"). However, when a user enrolls an iOS device, it shows up in the console as the name that the user gave it when their first set up the iPad or iPhone. So when there are 1500+ iOS devices enrolled and they are all named "Tom's iPhone" or "Dave's iPad" (or many times, just "iPhone"), its nearly impossible to easily recognize what device belongs to which user. You can see how this would be difficult when, for example, I'm told to retire Bob Jones' iPhone... how am I supposed to determine which iPhone is his? What is the recommendation in this situation? Thanks!

No, this cannot be changed. It's a limitation of the devices themselves. You can go to Bob Jones and then see his devices (computers and mobile devices), you can create a report or you can use this tool.

Thanks John. If we were to instruct the user as part of the enrollment process to rename their device within the Company Portal app, does that also change the device name within CM? I tried renaming my iPad and I don't believe it ever reflected the change within the console but I may not have given it enough time (that was during the initial testing phase)

I'm 99% sure that it will not change it. This bothered me at first too so I wrote a couple reports to solve the issue.
