Hi,Report server architecture is fundamentally changed in SQL Server 2008 by the removal of Internet Information Services (IIS) dependencies and the consolidation of applications into a single service. Therefore, you cannot see the report manager and report server virtual directories in IIS. Error 404 indicates that there is a problem with the URL configuration. To work around the issue, try the following troubleshooting methods using Report Configura:1. Open Reporting Services Configuration Manager.2. Make sure the Report Server database has been created and configured. For more information about how to create a Report Server database, please see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157300.aspx.3. Configure the default Web Service URL. In the Web Service URL page, use the default settings. Virtual Directory: ReportServerIP Address: All Assigned (Recommended)TCP Port: 8080 ( If you are using 32-bit Windows XP SP2, the default port is 8080. )4. Click Apply to create the URL.5. Test the URL by clicking the link in the URLs section of page.6. Configure the default Report Manager URL and virtual directory. In Report Manager URL page, enter Reports for virtual directory.7. Click Apply8. Test the URL by clicking the link in the URLs section of page. For more information, please see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb630447.aspx.If there are any more questions, please let me know.Thanks.***Xiao Min Tan***Microsoft Online Community***

I don't know if this might help somebody searching in the future, but I found that I had to configure the Web Service URL and Report Manager URL to use a port other than port 80 - I set it to port 8080 instead and I was able to successfully browse to the configured URLs.Regards,Lee

Similar issue. I had an issue with the report manager URL (http://servername/Reports) pulling up a 404 page when I tried to access HTTP. The HTPS link worked just fine. Here is my post from another thread on the solution. Hope this helps someone. Hi. I was able to solve my issue of the Report Manager URL not working when using HTTP, but working using HTTPS. A netmon trace revealed that an HTTP 302 redirect request to the HTTPS page. I modified the rsreportserver.config file to update this line: <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="0"/> The original value was set to 2. Here is a great post on the different values and a better explanation of the underlying issue: http://blog.hoegaerden.be/2009/05/24/reporting-services-2008-and-ssl/ Jason Ogle MCITP Enterprise Administrator
