http://localserver/Reports connection Problem
This seems to happen once a day. I have SSRS 2005 installed on a Server 2K8. I have about 9 reports configured on it. For no apparent reason at all I cannot access the reports page http://localserver/Reports. IE will just sit there saying "connecting" When I come in the next day, everything is fine. Thank you for your help. Mike

Does it eventually connect? If SSRS hasn't been used for a while it will need to wait for the application pool to spin up http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=2197Jeff Wharton MSysDev (C.Sturt), MDbDsgnMgt (C.Sturt), MCT, MCPD, MCITP, MCDBA Blog: Mr. Wharty's Ramblings MC ID: Microsoft Transcript Please mark solved if I've answered your question, vote for it as helpful to help other user's find a solution quicker

Hi CJ7Jeep, Thanks for your question and Jeff’s reply. According to your description, I understand that the edition of your SSRS is 2005, so the website of Report Manager should being replied on the IIS. Based on my research and past experiences, I would suggest you try to recycle the Application Pool of Reporting Services in the IIS. By default, please follow below steps: 1. Click Start, All programs, Administrative Tools, Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. 2. In the dialog box of Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, in the left pane, expand the Application Pools, right-click the node of ReportServer, select and click Recycle. Hope it helps you. If your issue still exists, please feel free to let me know. Thanks, Sharp Wang Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help you and unmark them if they provide no help.
