http://localhost/reportserver keeps wasking me for login and password. How to correct it?!
Hi, I am having a lot of problems with SSRS and Visual Studio 2010, two of them I posted here, but I couldn't find an answer for any of them. Because of them, I tried to use the Report Builder, but I can't connect to my Report Server. I tried to access the report server by using the URL http://localhost:80/reportserver but I keep getting asked for login information, if I enter my admin info, it doesn't work. How can I solve it? It is really driving me crazy, it would be very important if you could help me :)My Blog - Dicas .NET

Hello, It seems your aren't in the user list of SSRS. Are you the admin of the system? If so then in start menu right-mouse click on Internet Explorer => "Run as Administrator" and then open the url again, you should be able to connect to SSRS. Then goto "Site settings" (right side on top) => tab "Security" and add there your Windows account with role membership "System administrator". Then you should be able to open IE as "normal" user to connect to SSRS.Olaf Helper * cogito ergo sum * errare humanum est * quote erat demonstrandum * Wenn ich denke, ist das ein Fehler und das beweise ich tglich Blog Xing

Hi Oscarfh, Did you add the URL http://localhost to Trusted Sites? If not, please do it. You can perform this operation at IE/Tools/Internet Options/Secutiry, select Trusted Sites zone, click Sites, and then add http://localhost. After that, close the Trusted sites window, click Custom level, scroll down to bottom, and then select Automatic logon with current user name and password. Finally, try to access the report server to download Report Builder again.

You will also need to check and update <AuthenticationTypes> into rsreportserver.config file if above solution does not help you. Cheers Sunil Gure

Hi! Thanks for your answers! I had a big progress with it! Using Boz E's answer I could get to the administration panel and then using Olaf's answer I could add my user to the user's list. I did it and granted administration and user roles to my windows user, but when I try to access the website without running IE as administrator, I get this message: "User '<myUser>' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed." My user is administrator, so it should have all permissions granted, right? What am I missing? My Blog - Dicas .NET
