how to increase record number in SharePoint List Column
I've migrated the data from one application to SP2010. In my SP List the column name is Request No.(Number) In this column the last record number is 400. Now when I'm going to add new record it should be 401 however its taking as 0.
So here when I add any record it will take the next new reocrd number in Request No (Field Type - Number). For Example current record is 400 when I'll add new record it should be 401. Please advice

Use the default ID field for Request No by renaming the ID field to Request No. That would give you auto increment number starting from 401 for new item as as there is already 400 items in

Hi Pintu_SP
From your description, you have an "Request No" column which is used to automatically record numbers of the items. after migrated the list to another web application, the count function of the column is not available.
How do you create the "Request No" column with count function in the original web application?
How about creating another column with count function in the new web application?
Besides, as Prasath has said, use the default ID field.
I am looking forward to your reply back.
Best regards,
