how to force client to think its on differnt AD site
Hello All, I ran into difficult situation to assign client to appropriate SCCM site. We have 4 production SCCM primary server with one LAB. I'm looking for a way to force client to think it is in specified AD site and get auto discovered and assign to respective primary Server. we can force the client manfully assigning, but looking automated to simulate production environment! I'm not able to get any information from internet, I'm looking forward to your expert advice here:) Thanks much for your time. Sreedhar

You can't "trick" a computer into thinking it's in a site that it's not in. Why not just fix your boundaries so that the lab clients assign to the lab? John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

Or move the subnet in AD sites and services to the relevant site that you want it to be in :)Kriss Milne | MCSE *Please click 'Vote As Helpful' or 'Mark as Answer' if a post has helped you or answered your question*

I totally agree with everyone that it's better do the standard way, it's not that easy to get AD and Network team to convince to make changes for LAB. For convenience in AD site boundary they have added super net in AD boundary, so any boundary comes in ADsite, so I'm struck with it. This helps greatly for testing with connect to production Sites, I know this is possible, but don't know how to do it:) Thanks all of your advice and time.

Supernet are not suppoerted as boundaries anyway. You'll probably have problems doing that. All you need to do is use IP ranges in ConfigMgr. What the AD guys does then is not a concern. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|
