Windows Server 2012 R2
the vendor who installed our hyper-v serves uses C:\ClusterStorage for the disks and VM location. when i had a look inside, i found confusing ways of storing the files, for example, there would be
"C:\ClusterStorage\MachineA\MachineA\Virtual Machines\" <-- where the VM is located
"C:\ClusterStorage\MachineA\MachineA\ <-- where the disk is located
OR
"C:\ClusterStorage\MachineB\MachineB\Virtual Disks\" <-- where the disks are located
"C:\ClusterStorage\MachineB\MachineB\Virtual Machines\" <-- where the VM is located
why is there duplicate of machine names and why sometimes there is a folder for virtual disks?
my assumption is the ISO files to use for installing windows should be somewhere accessible by hyper-v manager and then the actual C: drive created will be in those "Virtual Disks" folders. but in our case the disks are everywhere it seems.
