how PXE boot point choses a boot image
Noticed that that in SCCM a PXE boot point has at least two boot images installed, one for x86 and the other is x64. Also noticed when a unknown computer boots the PXE server sends the x64 boot image otherwise the x86 boot image is used. Just want to understand how the PXE point decide which boot image to use. Thanks

Hi, The boot image can be defined in your task sequence if i remember correctly. So if you advertise a task sequence with x86 boot image it will use that one for the members of the specified collection. t K

For PXE boot with non-mandatory adverts, a TS has not yet been chosen. The general conensus is that the boot image assigned to the oldest advertised TS is used. However, there is nothing formally documented and according to the devs we've talked to, this was never actually designed specifically so your behavior may vary.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
