Hi Praveen,

To retrieve recently uploaded documents you can create a custom view in your Document Library.

1. Go to the Document Library and on the ribbon click Create View under Library tab.
2. Select Standard View.
3. Name your view and select the columns you want to display.
4. Navigate downwards and find Sort option where you can select Created column to sort it in descending order. Then optionally you can set the item limit under Item Limit option to view recently uploaded documents in limited number.

To view the recently downloaded documents you should have enabled Audit Settings in your site collection. Follow the instructions in below article link and ensure that you select "Opening or downloading documents,........." check box at site collection and also while defining a policy under that document library.

Dear Praveen,

Most welcome. Then you can insert a Content Query Web Part on a page and configure it to show documents from a site collection, just like given in below image.

At Additional Filters you can specify the date as per your need among the three options - Today, Calender Date, or Custom Value. Sort it further using Sort option in Presentation menu.

For recently downloaded documents refer to my first answer.

The suggestion mentioned above, looks pretty helpful to you.

However, you may also checkout this automated solution (http://www.sharepointauditing.com/) that helps to collect all the changes information like, to retrieve most recently uploaded documents in a site collection into real time even at granular level.
