Hi,

This is actually very common error on upgrades. Check the logs if there is anything special but otherwise, go to Central admin and start the service from there.

Make sure that the service account has full control permissions on User Profile Service application

Go to Central Admin >Application Management >Manage Service Applications >select "User Profile Service Application". In the ribbon, make sure that under Administrators and Permissions Menu, the service account has full control.

Hi,

  1. Stop the User Profile Synchronization Service
  2. Reset the SyncDB.
  3. Open IIS (inetmgr)
  4. Click on the server name and select Authentication
  5. Selected Anonymous Authentication then choose Edit
  6. Click the specific user, then enter IUSR
  7. Add the service account to Local Admin group on the server
  8. Add the service account to all the FIM groups
  9. add the service account to the WSS_WSP and WSS_Admin_WPG group
  10. Perform an IISRESET
  11. Reset SharePoint Timer & SharePoint Admin service
  12. clear the MaData-folder
  13. Ensure that "FIM_SynchronizationService" datarole is present on the sync DB.
  14. Remove all of the FIM certificates are on the server.
  15. Ensure that "Network service account" has full control on - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Servers\14.0 folder.

Hi All,

Sorry for late reply, was busy other stuff,
I just opened Services.msc and Enabled the profile sync service and then entered the admin account in that service, and click started-> the Product configuration wizard finished instantly in a minute,
Finally-> manually opened the service application page->started the ups service-> it also got started in a few minutes,

Thanks
