I have a content type at the site collecition level (let's call it OriginalContentType). I want to extend that content type by adding new columns , and make it available as a new content type (let's call it ExtendedContentType) at the site collection level so that this one can be used by any subsite in the collection. I want the ExtendedContentType to be used in the creation of a particular list in all the subsites. How do I make a custom list from that content type? I am using MOSS 2007, am the collection administrator, and can use SPDesigner 2007.There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what your are trying to accomplish.

Hi, You need to have those columns as site columns, navigate to Site Settings page of top site and create site columns from site columns option under Galleries section. Now add these columns in your content type. Hope this helps. Regards.
