Hi:As per my understanding your first check should be.> SQL:Ensure the domain account has a valid SQL login and has permissions to the DB> Check that domain account has local admin rights on your local machine. Also please post eventvwr errors.Best Regards, Mukesh Giri System Engineer

Few things to check: 1. Is this a new installation and the issue is happening since begining.(if yes, rerun configuration wizard) 2. What do you see in the event viewer? 3. are you able to access the site settings page? /_layouts/settings.aspx 4. What was the last action performed? 5. What does ULS logs say?I LOVE MS..... Please take read this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841216 for possible cause and resolution. Also, check whether your Farm Administrator password has expired or been changed. Please follow this KB for changing service account and password: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934838

i solved it by: iis manager > local computer > application pools right click on individual app pools > properties check the identity tab change the identity from 'predefined' to configurable and enter an account that you know has elevated permissions on your DB server. try it now....
