event id 1008 on database server
Hi,For a while I get an errors in ConfigMgr console related to sites with management point roles:Message ID 5436: "MP Control Manager detected management point is not responding to http requestes. The HTTP status code and text is 500, Internal server error."2 minutes before this message I have a error:Message ID 5420: SMS management point encountered an error when connecting to the databaseDN_NAME on SQL Server SERVERNAME. The OLEDB error code was 0x80004005.So I go to my sql server which hosts sccm database and I found an error in events:The Open Procedure for service "BITS" in DLL "C:\Windows\system32\bitsperf.dll" failed. Performance data for this service will not be available. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the error code.I checked network connection at that time etc. and everything was fine....I looked for similar problems on the net and found many no-resolved questions...Thanks for help!!! Hi,You have a article here that describes the SQL issue and how to fix it - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc774913.aspxKent Agerlund | http://agerlund.spaces.live.com/blog/

0x80004005 = Unspecified errorThe error "HTTP status code and text is 500" is a result of "SMS management point encountered an error when connecting to the database" so you have to investigate why it was failing. The BITS entry in the eventlog is not relevant IMHO (it's just "Performance data for this service will not be available"). Any errors in the SQL error logs?

Hi Torsten,I have found an errors on my SQL server so the problem with MP is now solved I think (I have SQL server on HP physical server and it runs ASR caused by fake messages caused by bad firmware (DO NOT USE server firmware 8.40 for HP Proliant B460C g1!!!!), but the error with perflib still persist. I don't know if it is serious problem...Keep trackingMCP,MCTS | jan-marek.com

Hi,As Torsten replied the error is really not important for Config Mgr. If you check the article you will also see that it is related to performance monitoring.Kent Agerlund | http://agerlund.spaces.live.com/blog/

Hi Kent, that is true, that this error message as no correlation to the root problem. Where there is smoke there is fire. And if you experience a managemnt point failure, you are sure to find the bits.dll error logged concurrently around other mp realted failures. We have put that 1008 evit error in scom to let us know when an mp has failed. Len Paone
