error in contacts database using Access Service application in SharePoint 2010

dear all,

I have enabled contacts database using Access Service application in SharePoint 2010.

I have enabled access services in the server services tab.

Secondly I have enabled the access service application with a separate AD user account for this service application.

When I try to open the contacts database. I get the following below error.

I checked the ULS log and found these- but unable to make out.

05/28/2015 16:52:05.43 w3wp.exe (0x2B64) 0x2054 SharePoint Server Logging Correlation Data xmnv Medium AccSrv Application URL=http://intanet.co.in/Test/test 1bd46ced-87d6-443d-af84-fdfaf62660d6

in some sites they have mentioned that we need to give or specify the address of the server.

Can somebody give inputs?

thanks

Hi Sathya,

For this issue, I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps as below:

1. Your SharePoint 2010 Farm is running with an Enterprise license and is patched to SP1 or above;

2. Access Services is configured as a Service Application within your Farm and the service itself is set to Running;

3. Either the SQL Server Reporting Service 2012 Service Application, or the Reporting Services -Add-in for SharePoint Integrated mode has been applied;

4. The SharePoint State Service has been configured (this is a Powershell Only Service Application in terms of provisioning); http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee704548(v=office.14).aspx

5. You have created either a Web, Contacts or Project database using the standard SharePoint template;

Here is a blog which would provide more information about how to troubleshooting this issue for your reference:

Dear Patrick,

The above steps are really fantastic and very useful. This give me more confidence levels - that I will complete the project.

I had checked the links and stuck with one problem.

I had created the database - initialized to the service application.

Somehow I am getting the error in the event log as

somepart of the eventlog - I edited for hiding the settings.

Do I need to connect the service application using central administration to database or do I need to use the powershell to connect the service application using powershell.

my request here is how do I change the database setting for service application. Here it is showing to a wrong database.

thanks

Hi Sathya,

What is the use of this SP2010_Access database?

Is it a database which is specified when creating a service application?

According to the error message, the account which used to enable Access Service Application seems not have sufficient permission to perform some kind of operations, you can try grant the db_owner permission of the corresponding SharePoint Content Database(the web application which you publish the Access database to) to it and make another test again.

Thanks
