error- windows management framework 3.0 cannot found on this server...

Hello experts of DPM

I have windows server 2008 R2 64bit and updated all as DPM required prior to install the SCDPM 2012 R2.

  • after I clicked on "Data Protection Manager", message displayed " Windows Management Framework 3.0" is not installed on this computer
  • All Framework from 2.0 to 4.5 are installed on the computer
  • I read the https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh758058.aspx - but it was no solution after I verified all instruction in there.
  • The computer is a stand alone server- now. It is an experiment prior configure it in AD.
  • What did I miss?

Hi,

Please make sure every .NET-component are installed by running: 

On the DPM server, .Net 3.5SP1 is required. Setup will not be able to add this feature on Windows Server 2012.  Open an elevated PowerShell session (run as an Administrator) and execute the following: 
Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework-Core

***Note .NET 3.5 source files are removed from the WS2012 R2 operating system.  You might require supplying a source path to the installation media for Windows Server 2012 R2, such as:  

Add-WindowsFeature NET-Framework-Core source D:\sources\sxs

Then, log onto the server with an account which have local administrator permissions and run the setup again.
