editable regions
Hi guys,

How do i place editable regions in a publishing page layout?

As an example i'd like to have a table with 2 rows and 2 columns as simple as this,

with all those 4 regions editable, where somebody can update the picture and picture descritpion:

Picture A Picture B
pic. A description pic. B description

I have read this article: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointdesigner/HA101741281033.aspx

but i'm still stuck...

1) create site coloumn with the type as picture and single/multiline text
2) in page layout take sharepoint control for picture and text edit.

Hi VikasGarg32,

I didn't understand the second point!

I have already created the site columns with type picture and single/multiline text.

How do i add them to my page layout via sharepoint designer?

Hi,

I think VikasGarg32 means that you should firstly create a page layout content type and add fields for this content type that you want to appear on publishing page (Create a page layout content type); then create a page layout from the content type(create a page layout)

For more information about Add custom content to page layout, please refer to: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointdesigner/HA101741291033.aspx#4

Hope it helps.

I guess you can try Aceoffix. It supports editable regions control. In Word document, developer can define any range of selection as a DataRegion object by inserting a bookmark .Users are allowed to edit Word document in the specific regions, and they cannot modify contents out of these regions.
