driver package fails during task sequence
I have created a driver package for the nic drivers for my hardware. It fails after the WinPE part of the task sequnece. The error in smsts.log reads. The execution of the group (Install Operating System) has failed and the execution has been aborted. An action failed. Operation aborted (Error: 80004004; Source: Windows) TSManager 5/20/2011 2:06:09 PM 1052 (0x041C) Failed to run the last action: 8100 NIC DRIVER. Execution of task sequence failed. Unspecified error (Error: 80004005; Source: Windows) TSManager 5/20/2011 2:06:09 PM 1052 (0x041C) When I built my driver package I pointed the package to a folder that contains more than 1 .inf file. Cound that be the cause of the error? I downloaded from HP the NIC driver for an 8100 SFF Elite machine and when I exploded it out there are a few .inf files. mqh7

Usually importing all drivers is okay, but sure you can do it one by one. Sometimes it just becomes impossible to know, what .inf to use. Have you updated DPs twice? Package source version should always to be at least version 2. Otherwise there could be hash error, it is a bug of SCCM.

Hi Mqh7, You may refer to the following article to check if it helps: NIC devices that require a special driver for WinPE may cause a ConfigMgr Task Sequence to fail if a Vista or newer OS is being deployed via an Operating System Install Package Regards, Sabrina This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
