Hello all, I'm a newbie to SCCM2012 R2. When I attempt to do a software download for Mozilla, Java etc... i'm getting this error below. I can download MS updates fine, but 3rd party updates. We are using Secunia to publish 3rd part updates to WSUS, which works fine. Then I sync SCCM with WSUS and SCCM finds the published 3rd party software, but I can't download it. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Error: Failed to download content id 16839221. Error: There was an error downloading the software update. (404)

The error say 404, aka file not found.

I would talk to Secunia about this.

Examine PatchDownloader.log then (it can be found in multiple locations though).

To reiterate what Garth said above; I'd open a ticket with Secunia, and see what they say regarding the process. My guess, and it's purely a guess, is that when you create the package in your Secunia Console, at the location where you indicate "where to download" the content from, that location, in your case, may need special handling.

For me, because of our proxy settings, I know that I have to do special handling at that point in order for downloading of content to work, in my case.  But since my proxy settings are (I'm sure) not the same as for you, any of my tips won't really make sense--you're a completely different company, with a completely different proxy. 

Look at source location, where Software updates packages are located. Is Update Content there (cab Files)? If not, you have a permission issue.
