does reinstalling sql server 2005 effect my wss 3 web application
hi, i'm having trouble with my reporting services i can not use it cause i keep getting this wmi error. now i'm about to reinstall sql server 2005 on my machine. my qustion is. will ir effect my wss 3 web application? i will save all my databases in another folder and when i install sql server i will attach the db again. is this all i can do?

Since you're NOT renaming the server or anything like that, a simple reinstall of SQL Server software should not affect anything, provided you reattach your databases correctly. BEFORE detaching the databases and doing the reinstall, SHUT DOWN all your SharePoint servers. That way there's no SQL Server activity on the databases when you try to detach. Then detach, reinstall, re-attach and restart the SharePoint Servers. Provided your authentication remains the same, you should be set. The other recommendation I could make is to BACKUP the databases and RESTORE them after the reinstall rather than reattaching them. I trust that answers your question...
