I do not see Approval Status column in sharepoint 2013 designer reusable workflow in list view.

Hi Amit,

The Approval Status column is a system column which will be added to list when content approval is enabled in that list and the column is read only.

To enable content approval in a list, please go to List Settings > Versioning settings > select Yes under Require content approval for submitted items.

After that, you can display the column in list view by modifying that view.

How the status becomes approved? Can I set the status via workflow or code?

Hi Amit,

You can manually approve the item by clicking the Approve/Reject button in the ribbon:

Or you can also use workflow or code to update the Approval Status.

Hi Amit,

You are right that only 2010 workflow has the action Set Content Approval Status.

And we can only use 2010 workflows to update the content approval status.
