Hi

Got a problem with the primary server yesterday. Packages was in the state "waiting to install" and nothing happend. Then we found out that it was because the Inbox was filling up all the disk. The inbox was slowly decreasing, so we waited to next day. Some of the packages got updated during night, but then nothing. The sccm application disk has a lot of free space again, so we tried to refresh one of the packages with no luck. Then we took a reboot of the server, something that did help before at similar cases. Still no activity.

Now we got new error messages in distmgr.log

[42000][4060][Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open database "SMS_NP4" requested by the login. The login failed.  
*** Failed to connect to the SQL Server. SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER
Could not clean up DP entries marked for deletion in the DistributionPoints table SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER
VerifyContentPackages: thread stopped SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER

The sql server 2008 log:

10/26/2011 10:17:03,Logon,Unknown,Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database. [CLIENT: 10.33.8.109]
10/26/2011 10:17:03,Logon,Unknown,Error: 18456<c/> Severity: 14<c/> State: 38.

Have search the net for a solution, but can't find anything. Don't know what to do now.

Can you cannot to and query the SMS_NP4 database using SQL management studio?

Yes, I know this is an old post, but Im trying to clean them up.

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.
