debugging from solution explorer
Hi,
I have a small clarification. In visual studio, I have one solution which contains one "IS" project. The project contains couple of packages. When I press arrow button to debug the package("start debugging" button or press F5) some times all the packages in
the project are executing. and someimes it wont.( only highlighted package only executing).. Can you explain me in detail. help would be appreciated.

Nope they are individual packages.

It depends on what "object" you have selected when you press F5/play. The problem is that it's not easy to "see" which object you have selected...
The more reliable method of starting a specific package is to right-click on the package inside the solution explorer and select "Execute Package".
Or, you can
include this macro from Mike Davis to give yourself another button on the toolbar.

Dear Todd,
Thank you for your valuable reply. But The method you mentioned that right click on the package in solution explorer to execute package... I know that..... But what I would like to know is ...... if there are couple of packages in project and if press
F5 then what happens..? Suppose we press mistakenly........... whether all the packages execute or not...... I tried it my PC....... but sometimes all the packages are executing and sometimes not.......... thats I would like to know...... explanation will
be appreciated...........
Thanks,

It seems I can't reproduce your problem. Everytime I hit F5, only the current package executes.
What version of SSIS and BIDS are you using?MCTS, MCITP - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate.
