datasource problem in ssrs 2008 r2
I am having a data source problem on a report builder 3.0 report that I am setting up. I am using a custom data source that is not shared with any other applications. For the connections to work, I can get the 'credentials stored securely in the report server' to work. However I would prefer for the 'windows entegrated security' option to work. Note: This option only started to work once I changed the owner of the database from myself to a 'sql login' that I just created. The sql login that I just created is in the security section only for the database instance. This sql login is not in the security are for the new database that I just created called 'testdb'. Thus can you tell me what I need to do make the 'windows integrated security to work?

Hi There Please go to your SQL server instance where you would like to connect and add your window account under security /Login screen Just add your window account by going to search on the first textbox and select entire directory and search for your window login name and add that inside your SQL Server and give it appropriate rights to the database you are trying to connect I am putting some screenshot for your help. Please let me know if you have any questions Many Thanks Syed Qazafi Anjum Please click "Mark as Answer" if this resolves your problem or "Vote as Helpful" if you find it helpful Please also look on this article and post http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms365173.aspx http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlreportingservices/thread/381b8cfd-a229-44e4-a6fe-6ca46e512911

I tried to do what you said, what I did not get the same screens. here is what I did: 1. i went to the database instance and selected the security under the database I wanted to work with. however, i did not see the user mappings. 2. I then went to the security tab for the entire database server and found where I am by domain/username. I looked under the properties and selected the user mappings. I then did not see the screen you displayed. I say a screen that showed users mapped to login. Here I added myself to the database that I want to work with and selected default schema of dbo. 3. On the bottom portion of the screen it showed the database membership roles I have i selected everything except for dbo_owner, denydatareader, and denydatawriter. 4. I then went to change the properties for the report I want to run use windows anthenication. i got the error message:Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON." Thus can you tell me what you would try now?
