could not start the data sharing service service on local computer

Hi,

I've got a HP Spectre 13 X2 Pro that was upgraded to W10Pro. The event log is showing:

"the data sharing service terminated with the following error: 3239247876"

When I try to start the service manually I get

"windows could not start the data sharing service service on local computer error 0xc1130004"

Can't find any related problems on Google and the error codes do not point me in right direction. On this computer the Windows 10 Mail App does not sync any e-mails. Haven't got a clue if these issues are related though.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ron

Press Win+R keys to launch Run menu.

In the blank space type in services.msc and hit the Enter key.

Now scroll down to Data Sharing Service > Right Click on it and select Properties.

Make sure the Service has started.

The service has not started and crashes when I manually start it. As I put in my post:

When I try to start the service manually I get

"windows could not start the data sharing service service on local computer error 0xc1130004"

I restored the dll following your link and this does not solve the crashes. Comparing the settings and DLL's involved with other computer do not show any differences. This is the only computer where I have this issue.

So I'm probably going to do a fresh install and see if this fixes it.

Thanks

Hi,

I noticed that you would  take time to clean install your computer to check issue, have you gotten any update?

Regarding to current information, the corrupted system files should be the cause of the issue.

If you haven't done the clean install, you can try the upgrade repair first:
