client stated as approved and N/A
Hi all, I have created a Computer Collection pointing to a specific OU. There are several system in this OU and they're all detected just fine. But the thing is, some of them have their status as APPROVED while the other just says N/A. Would you be able to explain why this happens? And how to make all of them got approved? Thanks you. The typical case for them to say N/A is if they were "accidentally" deleted from the console and then rediscovered by Heartbeat discovery. This lets ConfigMgr know abot them but they are not re-registered and thus show N/A. Unfortunately, client approval and regstration is a nearly undocumented process. This is the only real information on it out there (to my knowledge): http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2010/01/20/how-it-works-automatic-client-approval-in-configuration-manager-2007.aspx. If you have access to MMS content, Kim and I gave a session (BA31) that included material on this very subject. You can simply right-click on the N/A clients and select Approve from the context menu. The only know issue (once again to my knowledge) with clients being left as N/A is OOB management.Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys

thanks, that's a useful info. all the systems are located in our office so it has nothing to do with OOB mgmt. another thing about this is I just realized that the OU I mentioned above has just been added to the System (Groups) Discovery settings. Maybe I'll wait for a few days and see if they're syncing properly. Andrew P.
