change package location for a DP
Just installed sccm 2007 sp2 on a windows 2008 r2. when configuring the distribution point properties, I noticed the option "specify the package location ..." is dimmed. Checking on the server, there is no share named SMSPKGx$ (x denotes a drive letter) created, but in C: drive there is a folder named SMSPKGSIG which contains two tar files of 1MB each in size. I really want to set the DP to use another drive, say F: as the location for packages. How can I do that? Thanks in advance!

Hi, You can do that by creating a Server share Distribution Point - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb681012.aspxKent Agerlund | http://scug.dk/ | The Danish community for System Center products

Hi, In addition to kent's suggestion, you could also place no_sms_on_drive.sms on the drive which you don't want them to be used by SCCM.
