ccmcache size not behaving as per design even after CU4 update

Hi,

Continuing from my earlier thread, https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/58343d2f-40b2-4a3a-bf70-c2be939c6881/ccmcache-size-growing-beyond-set-limit?forum=configmanagergeneral

SCCM 2012 R2(CU4 installed): Clients have been updated with the CU4 client as well.

Still I am able to find few machines with ccmcache size more than the set 8192 MB.

I have restarted the SMS Agent and able to find below info in CAS.log

Although it indicates 245 tombstoned the content from 11/09/2014 are still available in ccmcache

I also wanted to understand what is & know how to change the MaxCacheDuration & MinTombstoneDuration time in Client settings.

The CacheInfo COM class is the supported way to view and/or change anything in or about the cache:

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc142966.aspx

The MaxCacheDuration and MinTombstone duration are read-only however and not supported to be changed. You may be able to change these directly in WMI, but that's not technically supported.

As for going over the cache size, this is probably grandfathered content; i.e., content that existed before the client was updated to CU4. If you must troubleshoot this further, your best bet is to open a case with Microsoft Customer Support Services.

Thanks for the reply Jason. So looks like I have 2 options

1. Deploy a script to delete pre-CU4 content and monitor if the content grows above the set limit and then launch  a case with CSS

2. Launch a case with CSS and get the suggestions to perform cache content management
