cant disable advertisement
Hi I haven't seen the behaviour that you are experiencing, but I just wanted to make you aware that what you do when right clicking advertisements and disabling programs is actually to do just that; disable the program advertised, not the task sequence itself. The consequence is that other advertisements and task sequences where the program is used are also affected by the disabled program.

Hi, Are you able to perform these actions on program that is adverstised and where you have the this issue? In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System CenterConfiguration Manager / Site Database / Computer Management / Software Distribution / Packages. Expand the package to which the program belongs, and then click Programs. Right-click the program name, and then click Properties. On the Advanced tab, select the Disable this program on computers where it is advertised check box. Click OK.

SCCM R3 I just recently converted over from sms 2003 and am having issues trying to disable advertisements. In sms i could right click the advertisement and disable it. I have found that a few advertisements in sccm i can right click and disabled program... but on 95% of them i only have the option to re-run the advertisement. Am i missing something here or not understanding correctly? thanks

A workaround is to set an expiration date on each advertisement. If you set a date that has passed then the advertisements will effectively be disabled.
