Hello, The link for List Settings are not under the Actions dropdown menu, it is under the Settings dropdown menu. Don't mistake this for the Site Actions dropdown menu.Go to your list. If you have administrator rights, you will see three dropdown menus: New, Actions, Settings. Click on Settings > List Settings. The Delete This List option is under the Permissions and Management section. If you do not see this, you do not have administrator rights to this list. Can you click on the Manage Permissions For This Listlink and confirm that you have the permissions you think you do?Chris Caravajal MCTS SharePoint Help

Hi i don't thik your findings are correct. You can delete all the lists and libraries in a sharepoint site if you have proper permissions. Regards, Aj (http://www.ajittgeorge.blogspot.com) MCTS

There is a new behavior for 2010 that applies to sites created with SharePoint 2010. You can still delete all lists and libraries normally created from a typical site template; HOWEVER, you cannot delete system lists & libraries created and used by features such as the publishing feature. For example consider the default "Documents" library. To remove the default "Documents" library, you must remove all documents from the library, and then deactivate the publishing feature. I hope this helps.
