cannot create logical switch on host

Hi. When I try to create a logical switch on a host managed by VMM, I get this error:

Error (26874)
This operation is not permitted since uplink port profile set Uplink Profile_18c68ad1-21a2-45d0-9a1b-6ae in physical adapter Intel(R) Ethernet 10G 2P X520-k bNDC #2$$$Microsoft:{DEE87295-E40D-4754-A6C6-2D0CD9EA5BF2} on host host01.domain.local would go out of scope for host.

Recommended Action
Delete the virtual switch on the affected hosts and retry the operation.

The operation fails immediately after trying to create the switch, no operation is actually performed or logged on the host.

There's no virtual switch on the host to delete.

What I've done and checked:

- all logical networks used in uplink port profile are scoped to the host group containing the host(s)

- moving the host(s) to different host group (with log. networks scoped to this group too) doesn't help

- stripping down the logical switch to 1 phys. adapter and 1 virtual adapter (for management) doesn't help

- rebooting the host doesn't help

- switching between assigning an IP to the virtual adapter from IP pool or inheriting the settings from the host doesn't help either, it fails in both cases

- hosts are freshly installed (2012 R2) and fully patched (as of 15.6.2015)

- VMM is patched (2012 R2 UR6)

Any help is appreciated.
