can not add AD users in to the sharepoint site
I had a problem in adding AD users in to my sharepoint site. I have installed VPC and configured MOSS 2007 in it and Included this VPC in development domain. I have imported all AD user profiles and that complete profiles list exists in SSP. I have around 4 web apps are running in my VPC, and am able to add users only in two site collections (in two different web apps), and in rest is not, it says no exact match found. Even I could not add my AD account when i logged in to this VPC, to which I gave full permissions as an Administrator. I checked app pools and all four of them having same account. I am wondering how can I able to add in some sites and not in others. Can anyone help me on this. Didi miss anything in configuration part . Thanks.

What happens when you try to add a domain user to the problematic site? Do you get an error or does nothing come up?

Surya, Use this command on your site collection and see what OU your application is referring to. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262912%28office.12%29.aspxPosting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Does both site collections (problematic and working one) gave the same OU when you use the command?? Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Hi, Can you do some testing as following? 1. Go to the web application of the SharePoint site where the AD user can’t be added and create new sitecollection, let say sitecollection A 2. Add new Add user to AD, let’s say user1 3. Try to add the user1 to sitecollection A 4. Check the effect. 5. Create new web application, add create new site in this application, then have a try to add the suer1 to this new site 6. Check the effect. Please let me know what are results as above? Hope this helps Thanks! Stanfford
