Hi, Surely you can do this by event handlers. Now I might be wrong but this article suggests that you can only have event handlers on Document libraries in SPS 2003.Reference - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb954662.aspx scroll down to event handler section I might be wrong though, if not please see this article for some insight into how event handlers can be used on survey and also send out an email. http://vspug.com/ssa/2006/11/09/writing-an-event-handler-for-a-survey/ Hope this helps, Thanks

thanks, interesting article, but the last sentence here is also saying: "... In SPS 2003, you could use event handlers with document libraries only but in MOSS 2007, you can use event handlers with all lists... "

Hi, It looks like upgrading to MOSS 2007 is your only option. Is that something you would like to consider or perhaps speak to your IT team and maybe you can go for it. You will find this upgrade worthwhile and lots of new features with excellent help from this forum community and also excellent documentation by microsoft MSDN that will give new sharepoint developers and IT teams step up route to creating sharepoint solutions. Don't know what else to suggest. Thanks
