authorization workflow involving additional parameters
Hi, I need an authorization workflow which involves some additional description from user. Let's say that a user would like to send a request to gain access to external application and with this request he would like to send some additional info like why he needs this access etc. On the other side the approver would like to send a description why he accepted/rejected request. I think that the current state of request management in portal (UI interface) doesn't allow me to do this and I will need to create some external web application. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. Although you can create your own workflow activity, the current UI exposed on request management won't allow you to specify a 'reason' for the request.

There is some degree of customization in the FIM Portal via RCDCs, and supporting WF activities - can you describe what is the expected behavior of your customization here?

I think that this degree of customization is quite limited. Maybe I don't know the all possibilities that can be done via RCDC, but at this moment it definitely lacks any change of creating my own custom controls. (like join/leave a group buttons etc.). And I'm not talking about the missing modification to the layout of this RCDC. In my case, the first problem is in sending a request. Let's say that the user want to send a request that will create an account in some application. This could be done simply by some additional boolean attribute that will add/remove the user to the synchronization rule and hence can control this account in the connected application. The first thing is, that he will submit this request by checking this boolean value in RCDC window and he doesn't have any chance to write some description inside this request. Similar problem is on the other side when an approver would like to send a commentary inside a denied/accepted request.
