This sounds more like a browser issue than a server configuration issue. Do you know are other users having the same problem with your site? Can you try using a different PC to access the site? Sometimes Internet Explorer runs into problems with pages it has cached and for some reason only loads things from the cache by default. Clearing the cache usually resolves the problem. To do this just open Internet Explorer, go to the 'Tools' menu and pick 'Internet Options'. On the 'General' tab there should be an option to delete browsing history. Delete everything (be aware that this will delete saved passwords for website, form filling options etc so make sure you know all of those). Close Internet Explorer and open it again and hopefully it'll work ok. You could also check the options for caching pages, on the 'General' tab in 'Internet Options' again, there should be a settings button, it should be set to check for newer versions of a page either automatically or every time you visit.

Oh, that's unusual. There are caching settings in SharePoint but I've rarely seen them used. If you are a site collection administrator try going to the top site in your site collection and go to the site settings. In the site collection administration column you should see an option for 'Site collection output cache'. Disable this and set the profiles to disabled if they are enabled. Back in the site collection settings there's another option for "Site collection object cache". Check this is set to something reasonable. I think default settings are 100MB Max cache size, tick to 'Check the server for changes every time' and 3 as a cross list query multiplier. See if this fixes your problem. If not the problem may lie in IIS on the server itself. On the server you will need to open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager under Control Panel->Administrative Tools. Under web sites you should be able to find your SharePoint site (usually something like SharePoint - 80 by default), right-click on this to get it's properties. Under the HTTP Headers tab is an option for content expiration, ideally this should be disabled.

Hi, According to your description, in my limited experience, I guess that it is making a database connection and displaying data based on the one property it has. It will return no data appropriately though if blank is passed in the property. It seems that a configuration setting is added to the web.config file, presumably as part of the process of installing a web part: xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/.NetConfiguration/v2.0" from As this would require an internet connection and a lot of SharePoint applications run on intranets with no outside connection, the File Not Found error appears. Remove that setting and the error disappears. I guess it's not shown up as a common error because a lot of SharePoint applications, even if they are intranet based, will have access to the internet all the same, so there's no problem. Please have a try. Best Regards David Hu
