after updating to windows 10, second hard drive has disappeared from explorer

i just updated to windows 10 from windows 7. my second hard drive that contains all of my media no longer appears in windows explorer. it appears in disk management, but i can't assign a drive letter to it. every option is grayed out. any help is greatly appreciated! i would love to attach a screen shot, but i am receiving the message, "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account."

If you are being told you cant post a link, or embed a picture (or any other restriction) you just need to post to this thread saying your account has not been validated

Look for the verify your account thread that is stuck to the top of the page.

How many partitions are on the drive?  Is it MBR or EUFI?  Have you tried adding a letter in safe mode?  Have you tried adding a letter using a third party app like easeus partition magic?

First, please make sure that you get all updates installed on your Windows 10.

Then, please check if the partition still there in Disk management. If it can be seen, please right click to change or assign a driver letter to see if we can get this issue fix.

Also, you can check solution here in this thread:
