active directory and wss 3.0
hello, i'm kind of confuse here. on some aticle of wss 3.0 i see they mention that you need active directory to use wss 3.0 properly. now i uninstall wss 3.0, install active directory then install wss3.0 again. now when i run the configuration wizard i get this error: Failed to start the database service MSSQL$Microsoft##SSEE. when i search for this error. i see they mention that you dont have to install AD to use wss 3.0 can someone tell me how to fix this plz?

When you uninstall a basic installation (using the free database system) of WSS 3.0 you need to also as a separate step to uninstall the database system. That too must be gone before you install AD prior to re-installing WSS 3.0. You can run WSS 3.0 as a single server, though, you don't need to have AD installed. (It all depends what they meant by "properly") 2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc. 2007 Books: WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.
