access request is missing from my site collection
Dear Sharepoint users :)My access request is missing from the Login page. I can't find the place to turn this feature on. This is a site collection unlike subsite, when I created subsite I have the option to give users request access by ticking a checkbox when a subsite is created. I don't find that option when I created a site collection in central admin. Thanks in advance,NL

If you create the site in central admin, then you have to add users to the site once it has been created. You can do this by accessing the new site and selecting Site Actions > Site Settings > People and groups. On this screen you can create new SharePoint Groups and add users to those groups.~Jennifer Mason ~My Blog~ ~SharePoint Support~ ~SharePoint Training~ ~Follow me on Twitter!~

Hi, On the top level site of the site collection, you should see the setting in Site Settings > Permissions > Manage Access Requests (_layout/setrqacc.aspx) page. Hope it helps. -lambertSincerely, Lambert Qin Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

You need to enable it:Go to Site settings->advanced permissions ->Settings -> Access requestscheck the check box "Allow requests for access " and enter the email address of site collection administrator or person managing the permissions.I LOVE MS..... Lambert and Kshitizs -This (_layout/setrqacc.aspx) has always been there. When users login and wants to have their permission change to higher permission, they go to the "Welcome xxx and clicks on request access this feature works fine.I want to cater same thing to a new user who wants an access to this site collection. When they click on the site collection, the below is what they see, there is NO request access at the bottom of Sign me in automatically. I saw the access request is always there on a different site I saw in the past. Sign In User name: ________________________________________ Password: _______________________________________ Sign In _____ Sign me in automatically _____ There is no option for request access in this area....

Hi, The Logon.aspx page does not have a request access feature, you could check the source code of logon.aspx in 12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS folder for more information. If you need it, you may need to add the link to the page by modifying the page manually. Please be sure back up the page before doing any customizations. Hope it helps. -lambert Sincerely, Lambert Qin Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
