hello,

I have problem with User profile that generate this error  Your search encountered an error. If the problem persists, contact the portal site administrator. but not in managed properties but inside manage user profiles it doesn't display any new users I don't know what is the problem I checked Forefront Identity Manager Service and its disabled I cant start it an it say the service will turn of because its not in use so what to do ??

Hello Victoria,

I created the service again from scratch It Forefront Identity Manager Service  but the problem he cant get the user profiles from the Active directory I give replicate directory change for one way synch and write all prop + create child objects for 2 way sync and always the same he cant import the users from active directory and generate this error Your search encountered an error. If the problem persists, contact the portal site administrator. I went step by step http://www.harbar.net/articles/sp2010ups.aspx

if you want to reference it. and the problem is when you try to find the error get-splogevent | ?{$_.Correlation -eq "<Code>"} | select Area, Category, Level, EventID, Message | Format-List > D:Awesome.log

the log is empty so lets guess the problem I am Joking :D .
