I am having MOSS 2007 SP2. When i am trying to add a user as a site collection administrator. It is thowring this error "You need to be a site collection administrator to set this property. " even if i login using my system account. why do you think this happen?

Hi, According to your description, I suggest that you should have a try to use STSADM to define a Site Collection Administrator at the command line, here is a link, please refer to: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc723735.aspx If it doesn’t run, you will need to create a new web application and use a backup of a site collection.
