XML Task: Data at the root level is invalid
Thank you Todd.
Now I am faced with another issue right after I fixed that problem.
I kept the configuration in XML Task as previously and ran the package, and got this error below.
Error: 0xC002F304 at My XML Task, XML Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 1.".
Error: 0xC002928F at My XML Task, XML Task: Property "New Source" has no source Xml text; Xml Text is either invalid, null or empty string.
If you look at this error only, it looks like my XPATH is causing the issue, but after I tried various XPATH expressions, I am convinced that it is not XPATH that is causing this issue.
When I tried to validate this XML, it says There is no schemaa or DTD associated with this document, so I guess that is causing the problem.
How can I apply XSD here?

Once the XML is created try opening it in IE and see if there are any errors. It happens when the XML is not correctly formed. My Blog | Ask Me
