XML Source IN SSRS
hi i want to create a report by using xml soruce...so in that connection manager i used that xml file path like C:\Documents and Settings\john\Desktop\test_data.xml in that query designer what i want to use..how to fetch data from that xml file..

Ya very thanks for ur reply... i am having xml source in my c drive..how to give xml connection string in that SSRS report i used like this C:\Documents and Settings\john\Desktop\test_data.xml but in that blog they gave like ex:http://<>/<> but i used C:\Documents and Settings\john\Desktop\test_data.xml this..its shows error "unable to connect data source"

Hi there Thats right you need to use either HTTP protocol or you can directly embed the xml code inside your report or XML Using Web Services I will suggest you if you do not want to use HTTP protocol please embed your XML inside your report and try this way. ya thanks for ur reply..but in my report customer only give xml source file daily..so i cant daily change that xml code inside that report..my report automatically fetch that data from xml file and show that result..how to create ssrs report like this

Hi sql.anandan, In Reporting Services, reports can retrieve data from XML documents and Web services, or embed XML in the query. As Syed posted above, when we use XML documents as the data source, the XML document must be available through HTTP. In this issue, you can upload the XML documents to the report server and then use a connection string like http://localhost/reportserver/XML/sample.xml.
